Dear Governor Hochul:
Pharmacy Benefit Managers, PBMs, have tremendous and unchecked power in healthcare. Acting as behind-the-scenes middlemen, they control how patients get their drugs, how much they pay, and how pharmacies and doctors' offices are able to deliver care to patients.
Despite their vast authority, Pharmacy Benefit Managers have minimal national or state regulation and oversight. The unacceptable result: skyrocketing costs for patients!
The New York Assembly and Senate have passed two bills addressing Pharmacy Benefit Manager accountability and practices. A7598/S6603 Skoufis and A1396/S3762 Gottfried protect patients by enabling greater patient choice and regulate a Pharmacy Benefit Manager industry that needs reform.
We Need Governor Hochul's Help!
We urge Governor Hochul to sign these bills and support the effort of patients, the medical community, and pharmacies to protect patients in the state of New York.
